Alongside a number of specialist training courses devoted to giving adult volunteers the specific skills to lead first aid, radio and cyber, weapons training, drill, DofE and outdoor activities; as a Wing we have an Adult Training Team devoted to teaching safeguarding and personal skills that are needed to be an adult volunteer.
This is a one day course which rotates around South & East Midlands Wing so that you are able to attend a local course. The course is for all new and returning staff and is an ideal opportunity to meet other adult volunteers from across the Wing. As well as providing an opportunity to meets others from across the Wing, the course covers some of the mandatory training needed to become a volunteer.
Topics include: The Role of the Adult Volunteer, The RAF Air Cadets, The RAF, Safeguarding and Health and Safety
This is a two day course held at RAF Wittering for adult volunteers wishing to progress into uniform or those wishing to change direction from Senior NCO to Commissioned Officer. On this course volunteers are taught how to conduct themselves on an RAF base and learn in more detail about the RAF Air Cadets. The course also takes you through the application process to become either a Senior NCO or Commissioned Officer, to help you prepare.
Topics include: The role of the Senior NCO and Commissioned Officer, In depth Service Knowledge, Safeguarding and Expectations of a Board and next Steps.
