Welcome to the Staff Training Site.
Squadron Leader Lynda Waplington-Richards RAFAC
Recently took command of the ST and DT in April 2017 after returning to the organisation from Maternity Leave. Previous to this role I was the Wing Sports Officer for 7 years. Whilst I was in Command of 1936 (2002-2008) I supported the Wing Adult Training Team so have experience working in the team.
I am a qualified Further Education Lecturer (DTLLs) and have been a course leader / lecturer for 10 years mainly delivering in Uniformed Public Services (UPS) and First Aid.
The Staff Training and Development Team (ST and DT) provide a wide range of courses for all adult members of the RAFAC.
Whether you are new to the organisation as a Civilian Instructor (CI) or wishing to progress through the Organisation and gain valuable experience we have something to offer.
The full list of courses are going through a change at the moment to ensure that they are current, up t date and fully fit for purpose to support the staff at Squadron level. As well as supporting staff to fit in this extra training & commitment alongside their own personal life.
The Courses so far..
Staff Induction Course (SIC) – Formally Civilian Instructors Course (CIC)
I day delivered across the sectors. This course covers all compulsory elements for all new and returning members of the RAFAC. An ideal opportunity to meet other members from around the Wing and network as well as gaining a valuable insight into the organisation.
Topics include: The Role of the Adult Instructor, The RAFAC, The RAF, Safeguarding, Health and Safety.
Pre Uniform Course (PUC)
2 day course held at RAF Wittering. This course covers all the necessary information for those staff wishing to progress into Uniform, or those staff wishing to change direction from SNCO to Commission. To attend this course all attendees must have first attended the Staff induction Course or Cadet equivalent.
Topics include: The role of the SNCO and Commissioned Officer, In depth Service Knowledge, Safeguarding, Role Play, Expectations of a board and next steps.
